Galvanized aluminum magnesium

Overview

Galvanized aluminum magnesium is a new type of high corrosion resistant coating product. The coating is mainly composed of zinc element, and the content of aluminum and magnesium elements is between 1.5% -8% (with an overall magnesium element content of not less than 0.2%). The added magnesium (Mg) component is conducive to promoting the formation of a very stable and carefully organized protective film - zinc oxide (Zn5 (OH) 8Cl2 · H2O), which generates and maintains a filmy covering layer on the surface of the coating, thereby ensuring excellent corrosion resistance. Compared to traditional galvanized or aluminized zinc products, galvanized aluminum magnesium has better notch corrosion resistance, flat corrosion resistance, low friction coefficient, and wear resistance. It can be used as a substrate for color coated panels and is widely used in automotive parts, air conditioning, solar photovoltaic brackets, animal husbandry, high-speed guardrails, electrical cabinets, and steel structure building wall materials.

Product characteristics

By adding magnesium aluminum alloy elements, the planar corrosion resistance of zinc aluminum magnesium coating is approximately three times that of pure zinc coating
The friction coefficient of zinc aluminum magnesium coating is 15% lower than that of pure zinc coating, and it remains stable during reciprocating friction, thus possessing excellent formability
Compared to products such as aluminum or stainless steel, galvanized aluminum magnesium is a more economical alternative
